This was a mid-term assignment for a subject of study called “Presenting”. Here students were assessed on how well they can present the news and prepare their own news script. For this assignment, I was assigned to cover political news.
The Script
Process
For the research, I utilised primary as well as secondary sources. I had access to a library of resources such as the series of hearings that were livestreamed on the Constitutional Court’s official YouTube channel as well as the Court’s decision that was released to the public a day after the decision was read. For my secondary sources, I resorted to news articles from various news websites about the event.
My Remark(s)
The research was a strenuous process and I admit that I still need a lot more practice to become good at it. However, I still enjoyed the process because I learned a lot of things, most importantly in reading primary resources and in prioritising certain parts of a story to create news that is comprehensive and understandable.
